12 Nights Pacific Islands Cruise

I’ve just returned from 12 days at Sea cruising the South Pacific on Carnival Spirit.  We cruised out of Sydney on the 11 November and went to Fiji, Vanuatu and New Caledonia.  The ship had 2,600 passengers and 900 staff. I have to say, though the Carnival Spirit is an older ship, it proved to be a fantastic choice of Ship.  The staff were fabulous, the food exceptional and the activities and daily live shows on stage were superb.  Not forgetting the port stops at Noumea, Fiji – Port Denarau, Suva and my favourites Mystery Island and the  Isle of Pines.

The only hiccup we had was an earthquake happened somewhere in New Caledonia.  At the Isle of Pines, I felt the earth shake.  I was lying on the sand soaking up the sun.  I wasn’t aware at first why I felt that shake, in fact, I almost thought maybe it was just land legs from being at sea so long.

Shortly after, a local came running up the beach to let us know to return to the ship tenders to evacuate.  You would have thought people would be running wild in panic but the staff at Carnival were very good and all passengers (several hundred) moved orderly back to the ship.  As soon as we returned, the news came in that all could go back to the Island as there was an all clear from the Captain and Evacuation authorities.

I was fortunate that I had taken an early tender to the Island and had enjoyed snorkeling and exploring before the evacuation warning so I chose to relax on Ship.  We all won’t forget that day!  Apart from that added excitement the whole trip was perfect.

The daily sunsets on the South Pacific Sea are spectacular. You can see from the photo taken when we were cruising out of Fiji in Carnival Spirit just how spectacular.  The photo shown was taken from my ship cabin balcony.

I could fill your feed with all my fabulous photos taken at ports and on the Ship but I suggest you try a Carnival Spirit South Pacific Islands Cruise yourself.  Keep an open mind and you will be surprised how much fun it can be.

If you are lucky you might return to Sydney Harbour and watch the sunrise over the Sydney Opera House.  How’s that for a great capture!  Try a Cruise, you will love it!
