Poem by Wendy Norman
It’s warm inside with muted song
My mama purrs this is where you belong
I float and twirl not a care in this world
You dream of me to be unfurled
I cannot see but float and twist
Swooshing waves of fluid to resist
I hear your heart pounding deep
My life depends on this drum beat
Gurgles and rumbles surrounding me
You really shouldn’t have ate those peas 🙂
It’s getting tight I put up a fight
Why do you push me into the light
Blinding white and cold air gripes
The air is rushing to ignite
A cracking slap upon my thigh
Someone’s screaming loud and high
Warm sweet breast my mother is near
Shoosh baby dear you need not fear
