A little poem I wrote for my dear Dad who has turned 80. I’m so proud of him.

Happy 80th Birthday Dad

Happy 80th Dad!

Remember the day

Gazing across the misty moors

You felt an urge that was so great

To travel far and discover your fate

To make the most of your mere life

At first, it seemed too big a risk

But something beckoned you could not resist

You set off far from the motherland

In a quest for opportunities

Australia became your new found home

You sailed the coast and it looked so grand

Promising yourself you would return

To make your mark and own some land

Along the way you faced all challenges

Nothing daunted you wanted more

Until you reached this very day

Now you can look back and be proud

Of all you’ve accomplished and say

I’ve done it all I feel at peace

What a fantastic life I’ve truly made
