It seems its my birthday
It came around so quick
It was only yesterday
This surely is a trick
I wake in the morning feeling fresh
But by midday Im feeling beat
My bones ache more than my heart breaks
I feel only the heat of a hot flush peak
Once upon a time I stayed up all night
Run ragged into the night
My friends we talked of all the fun
Now we can hardly run
Some say their ailments are on the mend
I only wonder if I can bend
So my birthday it is
Happy I will be
As long as I can see
Where did I put my specs
Oh heck they’re on my head
How did I forget
I think I’ll go back to bed
