Knitting soothes the spirit

It chases all the woes

Its also good for restless folks

Who can no longer touch their toes

Many just don’t realise

They have an active mind

It keeps their minds from wandering

And drinking to much wine

Knitters are quite clever

They detest a boring time

Keeping busy fingers clicking

They rarely watch the time

Some think they are just mindless

But really they are smart

They listen while they throw a stitch

Think with all their heart

Thoughts swirl around inside their heads

They chat and make remarks

Their work is never made a chore

They spend a lot of time

To make clothes for the poor

Who haven’t got a dime

What precious gentle folk
