I lost the will to write the words

I woke up one day I felt absurd

I almost heard an echo there

Where once upon a writer’s lair

I miss the days that I would talk

My conversations on a walk

I would see a leaf the patterns bright

The very sight brought such delight

Simple things would start the flow

The words would rumble to and throw

A story would begin to form

Sometimes funny or forlorn

The memory brought a smile

It really had been quite a while

The daily grind five days a week

Had began to make me bleak

No time to feed my weary soul

Immersed in people that were dull

Today I felt a peace of mind

I felt my brain stir and unwind

The thoughts began to shift and grate

Unfurl escape from their stagnate

I float on the river of my thoughts

I flow
