A poem of why you wouldn’t marry again!

Why Would I Wed

If I have to mow my lawn and fix my leaky taps

Hammer in the nails myself and flea the moulting cat

Take out all the garbage, his bottles of red wine

I need beg him for a date to go out and  dine

I cooked for 20 years still he waits for it on his lap

Then I clean the kitchen while he sits and pats the cat

I heard about his man flu daily for a month

But when I had pneumonia all he did was grunt

When we now go walking he rarely holds my hand

I then begin to wonder what I want in a good man

If all the love and passion has now become a chore

I have to wonder why I would ever wed at all

I guess I have to hope not all men are that way.

The good ones exist, hopefully we are wiser the second time around! 🙂

Sounds like an uninformed choice somewhere along the way 😩

I hear you, loud and clear! I’m learning that I can be happy as a single person – and meaningful relationships can take on different forms – and sometimes creatures. Thanks for this! xo Harlon
