She walked confidently in her denial
Having frequented betrayal’s aisle
Her armour fastened with lesions of regret
Past sorrows unable to forget
Feeling strongest when she sorrowed most
Now emptiness persists as her host
His burning eyes demand acquiescence
Her body and soul he must possess
Beauty mocks with haughty glares of contempt
He’s just an illusion of bliss once dreamt
Feathers of warmth sweep over her soul
Waking dormant desire she thought was at lull
Temptations voiced in honeyed charm
Dissolves resistance and alarm
Her parting lips swell with a devil’s thirst
Feeling chains rattle of the cursed
Fires burn thunderously in his desire
Threaten to combust in her passion’s plea
To devour and make her expire
Conquest is his mission all he can see
Dilated pupils glisten and blind
Welcoming the devoted to her shrine
Luring those to make her swoon
Grants admittance to her vaulted room
Lightning crackles in a trance
Fingertips commence their dance
Snaking tingles in their wake
Discovering hidden detours he must make
Invading valleys and mountain tops
Breathing quickens then abruptly stops
Eyes wide open, is this too much
Beggars yell in their cell
Steal the key and set us free
Fear of the exquisite rear its ugly head
Memories in daggers heavy like lead
Snap shackles in tight
This is not the night
