Adrift
You were everything to me
You made my soul sing
In you I had my rock
On which to rest and cling
When the sea of life was rough
When worries became too much
A dream too bright to last it seems
The light has gone I float adrift
Mute, Motionless, aghast
The loss of our rich past
Now all my days are trances
And all my nightly dreams
The memories of the good times
Were never what they seemed
One thing I wont forget
The day our souls did meet
It was sudden and so sweet
You thought I like a flower
You swept me off my feet
So dear you felt the need to be
To touch, to hold me close to thee
Words flew from your burning eyes
Joy surged as my heart did cry
In joy as a thousand butterflies
Flew inside the empty hollows
Now all I have is my sorrow
