Another Day
Morning flung the stone
Put the stars to flight
It kissed goodbye to the night
Betty rose early bright as a spark
Hearing the birds pull worms apart
Thomas awoke, bouncing from bed
Saw the bashful dawn, the last blush of red
A swish and a swirl leaves fluttered the earth
Who knows when the wind rose
Betty wandered the meadow watching calves play
Stoking the calf born yesterday
Thomas scampered under trees grown tall
To climb so high trying not to fall
A swish and a swirl leaves fluttered the earth
Who knows where the wind blows
Betty sings to herself gathering flowers
Thomas chases rabbits wasting the hours
Morning light beam over streams
Waterfalls tumble flash in its glow
Who knows what the wind sows
Betty is useful at making things nice
Darns like a seamstress bakes apple pies
Shoos all the mice picks out the lice
Thomas is strong rides ponies that buck
He hopes one day he might be in luck
A swish and a swirl leaves fluttered the earth
Now the wind hurries and strongly blows
The day turns to the night without a fight
The sun kisses the moon lights up the room
Sprinkles of stars sail into sight
No birds sing, the earth is quite
All tucked up for another night
Betty stood and stared the sky was lit
Blackness with stars all over it
She looks out she knew not why
Without a wish without a will
Everything was just so still
Only the wind knows where it goes
